Historically, Broke Fordwich is one of the oldest wine growing areas in Australia with plantings dating back to the early 1830’s. The region now has a mixture of innovative new producers as well as the original, proud farming families who have been continuously farming in the region for many years.The area boasts sandy loam, river flat alluvial soil (ideal for semillon), red volcanic soil plus unique pockets of red basalt from the Fordwich Sill - not unlike the Coonawarra’s famous terra rossa.

Broke, perfectly situated to explore the World Heritage listed national park and surrounding ranges of Brokenback and Wollemi and Yengo National Park has:

• Established wine growing area producing medal-winning
  boutique wines;
